I found that working on a large application using the presentation model or Mediator (in PureMVC) is crucial, in my opinion, in order to integrate Flash Catalyst with Flex Builder. The new paradigm and FXG new component is all about splitting the visual and interactive from the logic and data, the same should happened in Flex.

Flash Catalyst integrates very well with Caringorm when using the Presentation model since there is no logic involved in the component. The logic is placed into the PM and you can send the MXML component back to Flash Catalyst without worrying about losing or changing the logic. In fact, this also works very well with FlexUnit and TDD mythologies.

Nice! If you have a chance, I'd love to chat over email with you about what you thought of the workflow between Catalyst and Gumbo - especially with Cairngorm thrown in.
